Oxford Mt. Zion Baptist Church

Church Website

The Problem

Oxford Mt. Zion Baptist Church (OMZBC), a congregation serving Ruther Glen, Virginia since 1868, had no online presence. Prospective visitors had no way to learn about the church, find service times, or get a feel for the congregation before showing up, and there was no simple way for members to stay current on announcements or submit prayer requests outside of service.

The Solution

I designed and built a complete website for the church, from the ground up, covering everything a visitor or member would need: service times and location, a welcome message from the Bishop, the church's history, mission, vision, and beliefs, and simple ways to connect. The site was built to be easy for church staff to keep current without needing technical help for routine updates.

Key Features

  • Embedded YouTube welcome message from the Bishop
  • Social links to YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and Givelify
  • Rotating announcements slideshow for events and ministries
  • Online prayer request submission form
  • About page with church history, mission, vision, values, and an expandable beliefs section

Hosting & Maintenance

Hosting and ongoing maintenance for the site, so the church staff can focus on ministry instead of managing web infrastructure.
